TIM THATCHER is a Sydney based DIRECTOR, PRODUCER and PHOTOGRAPHER has worked within the industry since the year 2000 and has a deep understanding of television development, creation and production. He has worked across many facets of the industry with a core expertise in Producing, Directing, Development & Writing as well as dealing with Advertising Clients and Live Television.  

Tim specialises in travel and food television and content with a range of TV shows such as Gourmet Farmer (SBS), Sammy & Bella' Kitchen Rescue (TEN), Anna Gare's Cab Fare (NINE), Donna Hay's Basics to Brilliance Kids (FOXTEL), Getaway (NINE) , Destination Flavour (SBS) & Restaurant Australia (NETFLIX) up his sleeve as well as branded content series for Coles, Cadbury, Tourism Australia, Holden, Woolworths, Dan Murphy’s, HP, Devondale, Nespresso, William Grant & Sons and Citibank.

He has also worked with Network Ten, Network Seven, SBS and the Nine Network in the development and creation of shows for broadcast and produced large scale LIVE broadcasts like the New Years Eve Fireworks Show (2011, 2012, 2013) fas well as award shows including the ASTRAs, the ARIAs, the MTV Music Awards, Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, Big Day Out, CMC Music Awards & The Golden Guitars

His experience in reality television includes roles as a Producer, Supervising Producer & Challenge Producer on series such as Celebrity Apprentice Australia (S1), The Biggest Loser (S6),  Junior MasterChef Australia (S1) and The One: The Search For Australia’s Most Gifted Psychic (S2). All of these shows were wildly successful but none more so than Australia’s Highest Rating non-sport show ever,  Masterchef Australia (S2). 

TIM THATCHER is currently a Director at  ARMCHAIR SAFARI PRODUCTIONS  which specialises in boutique content creation.

In his spare time, he works as a professional PHOTOGRAPHER. He has provided publicity photography for all of his shows and has photographed for clients including DEVONDALE, CADBURY, NESPRESSO, NIKE, TOURISM AUSTRALIA, FOXTEL, MTV, HARLEY DAVIDSON, THE BLOCK AUSTRALIA, TOP GEAR, VIRGIN AUSTRALIA, CELEBRITY APPRENTICE, HARRIS SCARFE, VIVID FESTIVAL, BLENDER GALLERY, AUSDANCE, SEVEN NETWORK, NETWORK TEN, NINE NETWORKS, YOUTUBE, RANDOM HOUSE PUBLISHING, MINTER ELLISON,

On his adventures he has filled two passports, covered every continent and explored more than 60 countries. Tim's experience encompasses post production, programming, on-air presentation, editing, shooting in the field as well as in studio for both pre-recorded and live TV programming and events. He has a strong background in directing talent and crews & have worked extensively on international locations as well as on-air integration & sponsorships. Tim has worked across a variety of genres including Observational Documentary, Reality, Entertainment, Music, Children's Television and Lifestyle genres.
